Guest blogging

Whoa.

So I'm going to be doing a guest blogging stint on Feministe. I'm excited about writing for such a bigger audience than my little blog attracts, but I've also been struggling with a bit of writer's block recently.

Give me ideas! What would you like to see me write about, readers? The more specific the better!

Goodonyou!

I'm all for bringing what seems to be your 'core' blogstuff to Feministe: Australian issues and politics, Indigenous issues including your work on identity and 'passing' and who gets to call who what, the Intervention and the other crap that's been going on (deaths in custody, the panty-sniffing laws in the NT), disability, sex worker rights down under, the whole shebang. All of this is probably underdone there. How about something on refugee treatment, especially refugees and other immigrants with disabilities or who have family members with disabilities? (Very underdone; I keep meaning to write more, and failing.)

And being their summer hols, maybe some funstuff too?

When you're stuck, there's no reason you can't recap/rewrite old posts for Feministe, either, I should think, given that a whole lot of people might be reading who haven't read you before.

Fantastic!

No ideas, sorry. My mind is being done over by marking metaethics essays. I may surface early next week, if I'm lucky.

Congratulations! I think the New York Sex Bloggers calendar needs some publicity, maybe you could say something about that?

Wow, that's awesome!

I agree with lauredhel, I think a lot of the issues that make up the core of your blogging are under-covered on Feministe, and this is an awesome chance to bring those issues to the Feministe audience!

(exciting!)

You could maybe also link us to your posts on Feministe as a round-up afterwards, for those of us who don't read Feministe regularly... :o)

Ooh, neat!

I agree with Lauredhel as to what I'd like to see you post on Feministe; also, as an American (and therefore probably representative of most Feministe readers and contributors), I don't know much about Australian history and politics, much less about Australian indigenous issues. I'd love to learn more about them.

I'm sorry you've been having writer's block; I have, too, and it's annoying.

oh hell, if you have the energy to try to make those people understand mental illness and disability rights and I'M STILL A FUCKING PERSON GDDAMN YOU PEOPLE --
I dunno, I'm really discouraged at this point.

I just stumbled across your old posts about the massive fail that was a certain weekend poster at Echidne's, and it's been on my mind.

*babbling*
